Police Sergeant and Robbery Gang Arrested In Abia

Mattew Elah, a police sergeant of the River State command, has been arrested over his alleged involvement in a robbery operation in Abia state.
The suspects( sergeant attached to the department of operations in Port Harcourt and his members) were arrested in Abia State following a tip off after a robbery incident at Akwette Community in Ukwa East Local Government Area of the state.

 The suspect, a native of Uba community in Apa Local Government Area of Benue State was arrested following a report that some  police men robbed and snatched a motorcycle from the owner at Umuteke-Akwette road Abia state.
The suspects were paraded before newsmen on Monday at the state police headquarters in Umuahia. They confessed committing the crime with another police sergeant, Isah Alhaji of 48 Police Mobile Force Ahoda River State, who is now on the run.
Commissioner of Police Abia State, CP Leye Oyebade said;
"The command is after the fleeiing police man and efforts are on to recover the stolen motorcycle.
"The suspects would soon be arraigned in court as police have zero tolerance for corruption or crime of any kind."
