He gave this assurance when he spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria in Enugu on Friday. When a pre-CAF inspection was done on the stadium by Bola Onyeyode, the Director of Competition,
Nigeria Football Federation. He advised for a massive clean up and fixing of some facilities.
Ndukwe said that the Ministry officials were already meeting with the stadium manager and some members of the state's football Association to itemize all fittings and facilities needed to be fixed.
Ndukwe said: "The meeting also involved doing the costing for items to be bought or replaced as well as payment for services of technicians and craftsmen that would fix them.
We need to ensure that bulb and fluorescence lights in the stadium, whether within and outside the rooms are okay, there would be plumbing and thorough cleaning jobs done in the toilets as well as ensuring an effective water reticulation system in the stadium from its giant overhead tanks.
"The seating and seats will be attended to as we as Wifi or internet network coverage for international observers and the media for proper coverage of matches."
He assured that each bulb of the floodlight would be fixed, while the two giant generating set in the stadium serviced to ensure optimal performance in case CAF choose to play its matches at night time.
"We will successfully meet up eith CAF standard and be one of the best hosts in terms of facilities and hospitality."'
Rangers will host JS Saoura of Algeria on February 18 in Enugu in asecond leg encounter, which will be the first CAF match at the Cathedral as the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium is called.
