Fulani Herdsmen Attack and Kidnap Priests in Enugu. Ask for N2.5 Million Ransom

Suspected fulani Herdsmen on 26th Sept. attacked some Catholic priests, Rev. Fr. Chetanna Jude Chukwuneke, Fr. Emmanuel Dim and Fr. Prof. Ezeokana along Obimo in Nsukka. The victims were returning from Nsukka to Ontisha and Nnewi in a car when the incident occurred. Fr. Chukwuenke  was driving along Nsukka-Ontisha Road, in a bad spot of the road at Obimo Community the suspected herdsmen emerged from a bush shot him in the head but he survived, they also injured the
passengers and kidnapped one( Fr. Emmanuel Dim).

    A N2.5 millon has be demanded before the victim is released this was revealed today by the Director of Communications at the Nnewi Catholic Diocese, Rev. Fr. Hygi Aghaulor. According to him, the Kidnappers of  Rev. Fr. Dim- the Rector of Fr. Tansi Major Seminary in Onitsha Anambra, have demand a ransom for his release.

        However the Catholic Bishop Conference has directed that vno ransom is to be paid.
