The Executive Governor of Imo State Owelle Rochas Okorocha fulfilled his promise as he presented brand new Kia Rio saloon cars to the three Imo people that represented Nigeria in Rio 2016 Paralympics and won gold along side their coaches on Thursday, Sept., 29th at the Govt. House.
The Governor represented by the Chief of Staff, Government House Owerri, Hon. Ugwumba Uche Nwosu. Presenting the gifts to the beneficiaries, Hon. Uche Nwosu said that the medalists have made Imo State proud, encouraging them and other athletes to keep faith and put more effort.
The Chief of Staff also presented a plot of land document to one of the medalists, Orji Josephine Precious who have won many gold medals in the past. In her vote of thanks, Josephine appreciated the govenor for fulfilling his promise today. She told the crowd that the trooped out to grace the occasion that every athlete in Nigeria now "want to be an Imolite"because of the extent of love the governor expresses to them. She prayed for God blessing on the Governor.
