The Office of the Head of service has emerged winner in the cultural dance competition organised for various ministries departments and agencies in the state as part of activities marking the 2016 civil service week.
The second and third position went to office of the Secretary to the State Government and government house Enugu respectively.
It was a carnival of some sort as cultural troupes from the various ministries, departments and agencies of government converged at the state secretariat, Enugu to display different dancing steps.
Presenting the cup to the winners governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi represented by the Secretary to the state government elder Gabriel Ajah commended the spirit of sportsmanship among the civil servants in the state adding that the cultural was to re-awaken Igbo culture.
In a remark, state head of service, Chidi Ezema noted that the competition apart from providing relaxation also afforded the workers opportunity to display various Igbo culture and urged civil servants to reciprocate the governor’s gesture by ensuring that the four point’s agenda of government was actualised.
In their separate interviews, commissioner for water resources, Charles Egumgbe and state chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress, Virginus Nwobodo described the event as a welcome development as it has strengthened inter-relationship among workers.
Special Adviser to governor on water resources, Felicia Ikpeamaand her counterparts in inter ministerial matters and MDGS, Mabel Agbo said the occasion added beauty to the service.
The competition which attracted top government officials including the state deputy governor, Cecilia Ezeilo also featured best couple of the year while state dancing troupe added colour to the occasion.
